Maybe this goes without saying, but the content you film in the summer is naturally going to be much brighter, more colorful, and lighthearted by nature. There’s nothing wrong with winter content, but the tones and hues tend to be grayer and darker, and the footage just feels a bit heavier.
If you’re filming outdoor content, any talent will need to wear heavy layers of clothing, making capturing sound through a mic more challenging. Not to mention the extra layers add to the heaviness of the shots.
Your time in the winter becomes increasingly valuable as there are only so many hours of natural daylight. Meaning you can accomplish much less than you would be able to with the extra time that summer provides.
As we said, capturing content during the fall and winter months is not bad; sometimes, it’s even preferable. However, certain kinds of content make more sense to collect during the summer.
