It’s that time of year. The holidays have descended. And love it or hate it, you can’t avoid it. This week we’re dishing out some super simple suggestions for how to add a little extra cheer to your marketing strategies that will add a little extra cash in your pockets 💰💰💰 Let’s get Festive. 

Before we get started, maybe you're wondering, "Is this really necessary?"

Of course not! Your brand is just that —yours! You can decorate it as much or as little as you like. 

So then why even bother?

We know that adding some festive elements into your branding can be extra work. But that’s not to say that that extra work comes without any payoff. 

Think about it this way, why do people decorate their homes around the holidays? Or go out of their way to see holiday lights? There’s no material or monetary reward that comes from it. But the warmth it creates is where the value lies. 

A little festive fun adds depth to your brand and shows that you’re human.   

Not to mention the profit possibilities...

Believe it or not, there is some actual science behind the value of adding holiday imagery into your winter marketing. It’s no secret that consumer spending is at an all-time high during the holiday season. Every brand under the sun offers Black Friday deals or Cyber Monday price drops. Consumers are naturally in shopping mode. In fact, according to Small Business Trends, consumer-facing businesses often earn 50% of their annual revenue in Q4! 

So, what we’re saying is, this time of year, people are typically in a “Buy Now” mood. So adding a few festive elements is a great way to subconsciously remind them that it’s the holiday season. Aka the season to spend! Not to mention, if you’re proposing holiday deals or promotions, it just makes sense to add a little holiday flair to match the offerings.

Pick a Style // Theme

Adding holiday elements to your brand doesn’t mean you have to uproot everything you have and start fresh. You can go as big or a little as you like. 

Nor does it mean you have to stick with the cliched reds and greens or add sleigh-bells to everything. Maybe you want to stick with a simple ~wintery~ look? Add in some snowy or icy elements and sprinkle in some blue tones. 

Treat this as you would any other campaign. What are the fonts you want to go with? The basic color scheme? Once you have those details figured out, you can start sprinkling bits and pieces of it into your marketing strategies however you see fit. Need some ideas? We’ve got ya covered! 

1. Logo

Pretty self-explanatory. But adding a touch of holiday imagery into your logo is probably the most straightforward way to add cheer. Your logo goes on everything, meaning a basic holiday tweak guarantees a small impact that will touch almost every aspect of your marketing strategies. 

So if you want to keep it simple but impactful, a festive logo is the way to go. Bonus points if you animate it. 

2. Website

Whether you have deals, creative holiday branding, or even a festive video —your website should be the hub for it all. Your website is your digital storefront, so treat it as you would a physical store during the holidays and deck it out with some virtual bells and whistles. 

This year especially, as in-person shopping continues to lull, your website can still give your customers that warm, fuzzy feeling that holiday shopping can bring. Of course, without all the lines, people, and madness. Have some fun with it, and your customers will notice.

3. Social Media

One of the easiest ways to add a little cheer to your brand is through your social feeds. You’re already (hopefully) posting consistently, so just adding in a few holiday-related posts shouldn’t be too far of a scratch. 

Whether you want to showcase your staff with some festive captions or maybe create a few infographics that match your holiday theme. It’s a simple way to get your audience in the holiday spirit and show them that you’re not ignoring the season.

4. Gift Guides

Do you offer a particular product or service that tends to sell better around the holidays? Or would make for a perfect gift? Putting together a simple gift guide is an easy way to provide value to your audience while simultaneously promoting your goods! 

You can stop at one guide or develop a few with varying themes. It’s a great piece of free content that people will eat up this time of year and keep you and your product front of mind. 

5. Packaging

Most big brands will alter their packaging a bit to match the holidays. Think Starbucks cups and Amazon boxes. It’s an extra step, but even minor tweaks like festive stickers or seasonal wrapping show that you’re willing to go the extra mile to ensure a positive customer experience. 

This is a great chance to get creative and see how you can take your brand to the next level. Maybe it’ll even inspire an idea that you can expand beyond just the holiday season! Have fun with it.

6. Holiday Cards

If you’re looking for an easy and warm way to win hella points with your clients, this is it. We’ve said it a hundred times, but people want to do business with other *people*. And even more so, they want to know who they’re doing business with. 

A holiday card is a great way to make clients feel like they’re part of the family, boosting loyalty and just overall good vibes. Of course, a card may not directly push a person to do business with you. 

But it’s a nice gesture, and honestly, who doesn’t love being thought about around the holidays?

7. Create a Holiday Package

‘Tis the season for deals. We’re assuming you already have semi-regular sales throughout the year or offer occasional price drops on your products. Now is the time to take those deals, slap it with some wintery branding or a clever name, and boom! You’ve got a holiday package! 

We recommend even taking it a step further and promoting your package with a paid ad campaign to really get the word out and drive traffic.
